Salt and vinegar

Ah, the British seaside. To be beside the seaside in the UK involves chilly breezes, fish and chips, and amusement arcades that smell of pennies. In reality of course, you’ve got thieving seagulls and freezing temperatures to contend with but no matter: you’ve got sand between your toes. This sign in Bognor Regis – the epitome of UK ‘holiday resorts’ – has the essence of a British holiday: a weather-beaten complexion but optimistic with it.
